Five years ago, Sawluz started contributing to Lar Resgate (Rescue Home), which aims at ensuring a homely environment towards the full development of children and adolescents up to 17 years of age whose family life has been suspended by a court, due to events such as extreme poverty, abandonment, abuse and sexual violence.
Founded on April 8, 2004, the Lar Resgate Philanthropic Association is assisted by volunteers and local commerce in order to accomplish a very difficult mission, assisting, as best as possible, 10 children and adolescents who currently reside in the house.
The institution provides housing, food and total assistance, including basic training in music, languages and computing, as well as medical and dental service and means for constant school attendance in regular schools.
The key to the success of this project has been, however, maintaining a stable and harmonious internal environment, which makes it frequent weekend visits from former residents who are now adopted or whose guardians have recaptured their original paternal power.
